Roses Gap camp

On the 28,29,20th of October, the year 7’s went on camp to Roses Gap. We did so many different activities, which included low ropes, archery, giant swing, flying fox, a bush walk, canoeing, the crate stack and the vertical playpen. I got giant bruises from the tire at the top of the playpen.

I had an amazing time! My partner for most of the activities was Tiffany, and we weren’t very good at the crate stack and canoeing. When we went canoeing, we kept crashing into bushes and trees, and going in the opposite direction to everyone else. Everyone got soaking wet, but had an amazing time.

My favourite activities were the giant swing, and canoeing, (even though we were terrible at it). On the giant swing, I had two turns and went to the top both times.

I really loved Roses Gap camp and want to go back again.

Scratch pals global project

This term we have been included in a global Scratch pals project. We had to choose from the UN SDG’s goals. I chose Gender Equality. Some of the highlights were making the characters move, researching about gender equality and commenting on other posts. A challenge was figuring out when to make the characters talk and when to wait. This was a fun project to do and it helped me understand Scratch more.

COVID-19 in Victoria

Th the moment in Victoria, we have been majorly affected by corona virus, especially in Melbourne. even though where I live and go to school is far from Melbourne, we still have to follow restrictions. 2 new major changes to the restrictions are wearing masks and remote learning. If you leave the house you must wear a mask, or you will get fined $200. You can wear either a cloth mask or a disposable one, I have been wearing both. I don’t like wearing the masks as they make my face hot, are harder to breath in, hurt my ears and it is hard to not touch them. The other change is that we are going back into remote/online learning again. I don’t really want to do it again but hopefully the teachers have learnt from last time, and it will be better.

Winter Holidays

The most exciting thing I did on the holidays was sleep over at my Nanny’s house. We baked all day, making meringues, and different chocolate treats. Another good thing was when Tiffany came to my house for the afternoon. We made oobleck, and made a mess of the backroom dressing up and making Tik Tok videos. It was amazing!

The way that these holidays were different to other holidays was coronavirus stopped us from travelling. My family and I were supposed to go to Darwin, but couldn’t.
